Please could someone tell me how to write the linux image files from SD-Card into the on-board NAND Flash ?
I would like to boot up with stand alone IGEPv2 board, without any SD-Card inserted.
Accepted Answer0Sorry I don't understand.
I am booting up with Ubuntu 10.10 on the SD-Card.
1.- Where should I enter using 'root' as login name and an 'empty password' ?
('root' as login and an 'empty password' is not accepted by Linaro)
2.- Where should I enter to the /opt/firmware and run the igep-flash script ?
(I can't find /opt/firmware and the igep-flash script from terminal at prompt "linaro@localhost:-$ ")
Please could you give more detais ?
Accepted AnswermcaroOffline0Hi Josep,
The flash memory it's divided in 3 partitions by default:
1 Parition - BOOTLOADER) MLO (bootloader)
First erase the partition with:
And use the executable writeloader
writeloader -i /MLO -o /dev/mtd0
2 Partition - BOOT) igep.ini & zImage
mount it as standard jffs2 partition
mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock1 /mnt/flash
And use cp for copy the files.
3 Partition - ROOTFS) All rootfs should be here, you can copy it all files or if you've a tar file uncompress it here:
mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock2 /mnt/flash
The wiki page that Enric put in the post use our scripts & our firmware for do that so if you use Ubuntu then you cannot find these scripts.
