Have the following problem I like to solve. When doing a rmmod of the sd8686 drivers and doing an insmod again the insmod failes because it cannot load the sd8686 firmware. So I am looking either for a way to reset the chip without using the reset line or for a way to verify if the firmware is loaded and ok so I can skip loading the firmware.

Hi The firware loading it\\\'s done when you insert the libertas_sdio module. One way for know if the module & and firmware it\\\'s inserted ok it\\\'s check if you can access to the Marvell registers using the debugfs ... or modify the driver for get information over /sys ... When the Marvell it\\\'s in reset mode the first accepted operation it\\\'s upload the firmware, why you cannot reset the Marvell chip? Cheers Manel

Can\\\'t use this from an android perspective. So I need a sollution in the driver itself.

Hedwin, check this thread http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wire ... 58157.html , I guess this is applied in mainline kernel version and solves the problem.

Tried this sollution a couple of days backs. Although it is possbile to insmod the driver, getting the connection backup doesn\\\'t work. In the end I see that the wifi connection gets from connected almost immediately back to disconnected.

Enric, since I do not have access to the datasheet, what would the best approach be to improve the wifi part in android for the igep board? Btw I made an improvement in the libertas wext, the signal strength and link speed are correctly represented.

Checked the libertas mailing lists, googled a lot to get info about the 8686. Even went throught the 8686 implementation for windowsce to get more inside info. And never once came across the datasheet. Guess forwarded the wrong question to the google search engine ;-( Thnx a lot.

Hi Manel, No it is correct, got the mail yesterday and was thinking about your suggestion. Btw is it similar to what Enric found by googling? Hedwin
